Brain Body Being year 2 at-a-glance

~ A clinically-focused, trauma-informed exploration of the vast science and practice of healing the body ~

Healing the body, or experiencing a body that feels good, vibrant and well, changes our experience and perception of life.

It is very important to note that a body that is sick or in pain is not less than, but equally able to create a beautiful life; nevertheless, there is a science to healing through the mind, nervous system and body that can support folks experiencing pain and illness in reviving their body’s inherent wellness.

3.5 years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a terrifying and life-altering neurodegenerative disease that elicits chronic pain, fatigue, brain fog, loss of vision and movement, and so much more. I know the experience of diagnosis, and all of the care that goes into choosing a path that is best for each individual.

And, the medical world only offered me pills with intense side effects, rather than teaching me about the root causes of disease, which are vast and scientific. I took this path alone, and then through various teachers, learning the anatomy of disease, and the myriad of ways to heal the body. It isn’t easy, but it is possible. I am still in the process of detoxifying from many pathogens found in my body, but I no longer identify with the diagnosis offered to me by loving but brief neurologists. There is SO much happening in the body that can support a deeper clarity in the way of symptoms and our desired outcomes.

In Year Two, we will explore the somatic side of navigating diagnosis, healing chronic pain, understanding the anatomy of illness, and becoming skillful in facilitating diagnostic sessions that offer support, functional movement, anatomical and kinaesthetic education, and the many layers of healing.

There is a language to healing that can sound (and truly be) ablest. My hope and intention is to offer knowledge, skills and practices that can support everyone’s journey with their body, and to experience wellness in their way.
