Embodied Reflection
Turning Towards Life Amid Global and Personal Challenges
While we are in the daily study and inquiry of healing, experiencing an embodied life, and what lives in the realms of the mystic and mysterious, I often reflect on the pace of information swirling amongst us. I am so grateful for the myriad of ways we can stay informed on what is happening in the world; yet, I often wonder about how to truly honour it all without always needing to add our own two cents.
This week, I want to slow down. My mind, your inbox. No new information. Just an invitation to pause and reflect on the courage of every person, community, culture, and country fighting for peace and their right to exist. To take a moment to feel for anyone experiencing the unfathomable challenge of climate crisis, displacement and loss, war, revolution, and healing the irreparable impact of colonial violence.
Let our honouring not be through our thumbs and eyes through the fog of our ‘stories’, but in the true depth of our hearts. What if we let the pain of the world settle in our bones so that we may remember how life is fought for and thus must be grandly appreciated.
I am reflecting daily on this balance of feeling the pain of the world and the joy and beauty of the world. I think this requires a sense of where I begin and end, and my internal and external capacity to navigate the profundities of life well and with integrity. We invite you to welcome the pain in, and also turn towards life in the ways of noticing, being with and unravelling the mysteries that we are abiding within and amongst and beyond.
Below is a Boundaries of the Body practice, so that you may come to know the space that you inhabit, the capacity that you hold, and your innate sense of when it’s time to be with difficulty, when it’s time to be with beauty, and when we might have the width to be with both.
All our love on this precious, powerful day.
This week we offer you an invitation to pause. To feel the world. To turn towards all that is happening on this Earth and emerge with a felt sense of yourself in relationship to the space around you.
You, here. Others, there. Together, choosing to live this complex, immensely beautiful, immensely difficult life.
Notice the sensations, images, and impulses of your body that arise as you truly take a moment to be with it all.
